About the ArtistBorn and brought up in Kenya, Priya has established herself as a popular wildlife artist and is steadily working towards gaining international recognition.
After completing a degree in Art and Design in the United Kingdom, Priya returned to Kenya and joined “Matbronze” a Bronze Foundry and Gallery as a manager and sculptor. Here she had the opportunity to really get up close and personal with various species from Buffalos to Puff Adders! At the same time she also continued experimenting with various painting styles with an initial emphasis on wildlife art.
In 2004 Priya went freelance so as to pursue a full time career as an artist. Her dramatic, varied and unique style marks her out from other artists of her genre, and she has rapidly gained popularity in the Kenyan and East African market.
Priya is currently specializing on developing a new range of artwork, working with various blends of Tea and Coffee. Two of her paintings from this series were recently shortlisted for the David Shepherd Wildlife Artist of the Year 2010 and sold, raising money for the foundation.
